Under the hood.
We ship a Magento 2 extension installed via Composer. The extension registers OAuth credentials, exposes a small set of REST endpoints scoped to your workspace, and subscribes to the relevant Magento events (order placed, invoice paid, credit memo, etc.). When a customer asks about an order, the AI hits those endpoints and gets the live order. Store credit, gift card, and B2B catalog queries flow through the same channel.
Set up in 6 steps.
- 01Run composer require messagecom/magento-integration in your Magento root.
- 02Run bin/magento module:enable Messagecom_Integration and bin/magento setup:upgrade.
- 03In Magento admin, go to Stores, Configuration, Message.com and paste your workspace key.
- 04Pick which stores or websites this configuration applies to.
- 05Run bin/magento cache:flush. The widget loads on the storefront immediately.
- 06Optional: enable B2B features under the same settings panel if you run a B2B catalog.
Questions people ask before they install.
Does it support Magento 1?
No. Magento 1 reached end-of-life in June 2020. We support Magento 2.4 and Adobe Commerce only.
Will it work with my custom theme?
Yes. The widget injects via standard Magento layout XML, which every theme inherits. No theme edits required.
How does it handle multi-website setups?
Each website can use its own workspace, or share one workspace and segment by website ID. Set this under Stores, Configuration.
Does it support Magento B2B?
Yes. Company accounts, shared catalogs, custom pricing, and requisition lists are all surfaced to the AI.
