How we work

Five rules we run by.

Read these before you apply. If any of them sound wrong, the rest of the page will not save us.

Rule 01

Cost discipline is non-negotiable.

Every feature has unit economics modeled before it ships. We self-host LLMs and run our own SIP because the math worked out, not because we wanted bragging rights. If a feature is going to cost us more than the customer pays for it, we do not ship it.

Rule 02

Customers come second to the inbox.

Sounds wrong, reads correctly. If the unified inbox is not the best on the market, none of the rest matters. Every decision flows back to that one screen.

Rule 03

Founder voice on every surface.

Marketing reads like the founder wrote it. Help docs read like a senior engineer wrote them. We do not have a brand voice template. We have taste.

Rule 04

Ship every day.

Production deploys every weekday, sometimes hourly. We trust each other to ship small things directly and big things behind a flag.

Rule 05

Async by default, synchronous when it matters.

We are remote-first. Most decisions happen in writing in Linear and Notion. We pick up the phone when a customer is on fire, when we are arguing about a path, or when one of us is stuck.

Cash plus founding-team equity. We pay for senior people, not for warm bodies.

Remote with HQ pull

Work from anywhere. Come to Houston twice a year on us. We rent a place, you stay in it.

Hardware on us

A high-end GPU workstation if you need one, MacBook Pro of your choice, ultrawide monitor, mechanical keyboard. We are picky about gear because the work demands it.

Health, dental, vision

We pay 100% of premium for you and your dependents, US-based.

Take time when you need it

Unlimited PTO with a 3-week annual minimum. If you do not take 3 weeks, we make you take them in December.

Real ownership

Founding-team equity with a 4-year vest, 1-year cliff. The first 25 hires share the founder pool.

Open roles

6 roles, all senior, all hiring.

Application is a short form plus a paid trial week. We pay $5,000 for the trial whether or not we end up working together.

Engineering

Self-hosted everything. Real hardware. No layers of abstraction we cannot see through.

Design

Bespoke, not template. We design every screen like the company depends on it.

AI

We own the model, the inference, and the eval set. Customers come second to grounding.

Customer Engineering

Customer-facing engineers who become the most-cited byline in our help center.

Marketing

Earned growth. No paid acquisition until the content engine is humming.
