Under the hood.
We use Kit's V3 API with an OAuth connection. Chat contacts who explicitly opt in are pushed as Subscribers with the Tags you configure. Sequences trigger via Kit's Sequence Subscribe endpoint. Custom fields populate from conversation data you map. The integration is opt-in only, no chat visitor is added without an explicit acceptance.

- 02Click Connect Kit and authorize the OAuth scopes.
- 03Pick the default form for chat-collected subscribers, or skip if you do not use a form.
- 04Map fields: email is required, plus any Custom Fields (first name, product interest) you want synced.
- 05Configure auto-tag rules: which chat behaviors apply which Kit Tags.
- 06Save. New subscribers start syncing within seconds.

Does it work with the Kit free plan?
Yes. Subscriber sync and tagging work on Free. Sequences require a paid plan.
Can I add visitors without an explicit opt-in?
No. The integration requires an explicit acceptance (a chat field, a button click, or an existing customer match). This is Kit's policy too.
What about multiple Kit accounts?
Yes. Connect one Kit account per Message workspace. Creators who run multiple brands can use separate Message workspaces or routing rules.
Does it work with the new Kit name and branding?
Yes. ConvertKit rebranded to Kit in 2024. The API is the same, all features work.
