Stripe is the universal billing primitive. Our integration lets the AI look up subscriptions, refund charges, find invoices, and pull customer LTV without leaving the inbox. Refunds under a cap can be issued automatically. Disputes and chargebacks surface in the inbox immediately.

Under the hood.
Stripe events stream into Message via webhooks. We store enough state to answer subscription and invoice questions without round-tripping for every chat. Sensitive operations (refunds, payment method updates) call the Stripe API live at the moment of action, using the OAuth connection you authorized at install. Card data never touches Message servers.
Set up in 5 steps.
- 01In your message.com workspace, open Integrations > Stripe.
- 02Click Connect Stripe. You will be redirected to Stripe's OAuth flow.
- 03Authorize the requested scopes (read customers, read subscriptions, read charges, write refunds optional).
- 04Configure the refund policy: max refund amount, max refunds per order, escalation rules.
- 05Save. The integration starts working immediately.
Questions people ask before they install.
Does the AI issue refunds without human approval?
Only within the cap you set. Default is $30 per refund, 1 per customer per month. Anything above escalates.
Will Stripe webhooks slow down my workflow?
No. We process them async and use them only to keep our cache current. Customer-facing answers feel instant.
Can I see Stripe data without granting refund permission?
Yes. The refund scope is optional. You can grant read-only access for AI grounding while keeping refunds behind a human.
What about Stripe Connect?
Supported. We respect Connect platform / connected account boundaries. The AI sees data for the connected accounts you authorize.
