How it works

Under the hood.

When a conversation comes in, Message fires a Slack message to the channel you configured. The message includes the customer name, the first message, and three quick-action buttons (Claim, Assign, Resolve). A reply in the Slack thread becomes the agent reply in the inbox. We use Slack's Block Kit for the message and the Slack RTM API for the thread mirroring.

Questions people ask before they install.

Can the same agent claim a chat from Slack and from the Message dashboard?

Yes. Claim state is shared. The first action wins, the other side updates within a second.

Does it work with private channels?

Yes. You can route conversations into a private channel, just make sure to invite the Message Slack app to it.

What about Slack Enterprise Grid?

Supported. Route to a workspace-specific channel or an org-wide channel.

Can I use it without giving agents Slack access?

Yes. Slack mirroring is optional per agent. Some agents prefer the dashboard, some prefer Slack.
