Under the hood.
The BigCommerce app uses BigCommerce's v3 API and webhook subscribers. On install you authorize the scopes we need (read products, read orders, read customers, write refunds optional). Order and cart webhooks stream into your workspace so the AI can answer status questions without polling. Refunds and store credits call the BigCommerce API live at the moment of action, with the OAuth session granted at install.

Questions people ask before they install.
Does it work with headless BigCommerce (Catalyst, BigCommerce for WordPress)?
Yes. The widget loads on any frontend. The API integration runs against the BigCommerce backend regardless of where the storefront lives.
Can the AI issue store credit instead of a refund?
Yes. Store credit is supported as a refund mode. Set the policy in the BigCommerce integration settings.
How is it different from BigCommerce's built-in chat?
BigCommerce ships a basic live-chat widget. It does not include AI grounding, ticket queue, phone, or email. Message replaces all of that, with order data piped in from BigCommerce.
Does it support multi-storefront (BigCommerce Enterprise)?
Yes. Each storefront connects to its own workspace, or share one workspace and segment by storefront ID in the inbox.
