Glossary/Saved reply
Definition

What is saved reply?

Saved reply is the message.com term for what other platforms call canned responses or quick replies. A saved reply is a named, reusable text snippet that an agent can insert into a conversation with one click. Same concept, different vocabulary.

Why the name

"Canned response" reads as dated and slightly condescending. "Saved reply" is more honest about what it is: a reply you wrote once and saved so you do not have to write it again. The functional behavior is identical to canned responses in Zendesk or Help Scout.

Scope and visibility

Saved replies in message.com belong to a workspace. They can be marked private to one agent, shared with a department, or shared across the whole workspace. Search ranks the most-used replies first per agent.

API

Saved replies are first-class API resources. POST creates one; GET lists; PATCH updates; DELETE removes. Bulk import from a CSV is supported. See the Saved replies endpoint reference.
