IVR with 3 options or just AI?

Setting up the phone line. Old place had a 5-option IVR. Considering ditching it for an AI greeting that asks open-ended. Who has done this?

We went AI-only and regretted it. Some callers want to mash buttons. Now we have a 2-option IVR (1 for sales, 2 for support) then the AI takes either branch. Best of both.

Common pattern. Short IVR for power users, AI fallback for everyone else. Conversion measurably higher than AI-only.
